The Lemay Chamber of Commerce holds many special events throughout the year. At each one, there are great opportunities for businesses to reach out to the community and their target customers and contacts.
Trivia Night, March
- This is a really fun Trivia Night event hosted by Reinhold Electric! Trivia Night is a great way to reach over 125 people who come out to have a great evening.
Outstanding Educator Recognition Night, March
- In March, we have Outstanding Educator Awards, sponsored by Montgomery Bank, where one teacher from every school in Lemay is recognized and presented with gift certificates and awards.
Golf Tournament, May
- We have a great River City Casino Golf Scramble each May! The Presenting sponsor is River City Casino, the Corporate Sponsor is Midwest BankCentre. The Golf Tournament is a great way to reach over 125 individuals who come out to play.
Annual Awards Dinner, October
- In lieu of a monthly membership luncheon in October, we have our Annual Awards. This is the culmination of the year’s progress in the community, with awards given out for Commercial Beautification, Above & Beyond Award, Outstanding Community Service, and the Edgar P. Crecelius Award for lifetime achievement.
Fall Flavor Festival, November
- The Fall Flavor Festival is a community-outreach “taste of” event that benefits both the Lemay Chamber and the Hancock Place School District. Thirty-four businesses and restaurants participate and over 550 people attend this great community event.
Membership Drive, September
- We divide up the business areas of Lemay and each volunteer is responsible for going into each business in their section, introducing themselves, answering questions about the Chamber, and inviting prospects to an event. This is a great way to increase membership and to increase the visibility of the Chamber in the community, while at the same time helping businesspeople make new contacts.
Ribbon-Cuttings, Ground-Breakings, Grand Openings, As Needed
- We provide ribbon-cuttings, ground-breakings and grand openings to any Chamber member who qualifies. We also send out press releases to local news outlets. This is a great way to market a new or remodeled business.
